Description:
Fieldpiece HS36 belongs to a series of universal and adaptable meters that are used to perform a wide variety of measurements that are important when servicing HVAC / R devices. The HS36 model is distinguished by a backlit screen and the ability to determine so-called RMS of alternating current and voltage.
The HS30 series meters work with all heads offered by Fieldpiece. In addition, along with the device the user receives, among others integrated with a pendant with a magnet, measuring 3 feet (approx. 91 cm), detachable silicone connectors and 9-inch (approx. 23 cm) cables with crocodile clips to plug into the test points (thus allowing you to keep your hands free). The meter screen, in addition to displaying digital values, also presents them using bar charts. Service technicians using HS36 are satisfied with the built-in temperature compensation algorithms and capacity estimation.
The HS36 meter has the True RMS function, i.e. the ability to determine the effective value of AC current and voltage in the form of non-sinusoidal lines. Detachable test leads and a jaw clamp (crocodile clip) make testing with one hand extremely easy. The K type thermocouple connection port (NiCl-NiAr temperature sensor) on the front panel of the meter allows you to test a number of refrigeration and air conditioning parameters.
Model HS36 as a meter that automatically changes ranges is very accurate, showing the measurement result on the display. For example, if the knob is set to V AC (AC voltage), the meter will switch to the minivolts range, signaling it with the "m" mark that appears at the bottom of the screen. The meter will detect even a very low transient voltage. If we touch the wires away from the voltage source, the meter will show zero value or a very low though stable number of minivolts.
Attributes:
- the working (rather than laboratory) nature of the meter, which is durable, handy and safe (loud sound signals and clearly visible warning diodes);
- non-contact voltage measurement (NCV) function, sensitive enough to detect the mains voltage, e.g. thermostats (24V AC) when approaching the source;
- high voltage indicator for any VAC / VDC range at a voltage greater than 30V, allowing to determine whether the tested circuit is open or closed;
- measurement of microamps of rectifier diode currents in the radiator control system;
- measurement of electrical capacitance in capacitors and motors;
- MIN / MAX function, i.e. registration of minimum and maximum indications of a given value;
- temperature measurement (after connecting any K type thermocouple), accurate even in rapidly changing ambient conditions due to the excellent temperature compensation;
- silicone wires with detachable probe tips that remain flexible at low temperatures, and will not melt in contact with the soldering iron, while allowing one-handed operation;
- durable housing with protective rubber corners;
- magnetic catch on the back of the device;
- built-in cable tray;
- ergonomic shape of the meter fitted to the hand;
- automatic power off function to save battery.
